Fast and reliable permitting services

Our permitting process removes the guesswork, delivering fast, fully compliant approvals. We manage every piece of paperwork and coordination, saving you valuable time and resources. Unlike other permitting services that leave most of the work to you and simply submit the final package, we stay hands‑on from start to finish — guiding, preparing, and executing the entire process on your behalf.

No matter where you live in the United States, there's a good chance a permit is required for many property improvement projects. Building a deck, pouring a new driveway, and even demolishing certain structures often require approval from local authorities.
The days of completing major projects without permits are largely gone. Homeowners, including those in rural areas, can face fines for unpermitted work years after it was completed. In some cases, they may also be required to remove the structure or improvement entirely. That can mean losing the original investment and paying additional demolition and restoration costs.
Obtaining the proper permits before starting a project is almost always easier and less expensive than trying to secure approval after the work has been completed. Modern technology, including aerial imagery and drones, allows building officials to identify unpermitted construction even when it cannot be seen from the road.

Option 1: Site Feasibility Consultation — $100
Get clarity before you build. With our Site Consultation, you show us where you want your structure placed, and we confirm whether your local building and codes division will allow it.
If your project can move forward, we credit the $100 toward your full permit application cost. If local rules restrict placement, materials, or colors, you’ll know upfron

Permit Fees
Once your permit is approved, you’ll need to pay the fee charged by your city or county. In most cases, these fees aren’t provided until after approval, though some building departments require payment upfront before they begin their review.
PermitUS handles the permitting process, but we are not responsible for paying any jurisdictional fees. We’ll let you know the exact amount as soon

Once your payment is received, we’ll reach out to collect a few key details so we can begin your permitting process right away. We’ll ask for your project address, what you’re planning to build, and which city or county the construction will take place in. This basic information allows us to verify requirements and move your permit forward without delay.
Once we have the address of your project location, we’ll send you a photo of your property so you can clearly mark the exact spot where you want your structure to be built. Simply mark the location and send it back to us.
We use this information to create the site plan required by your building department and to verify that your project meets all setback requirements. This step ensures accuracy, compliance, and a smooth permitting process from the start.
Depending on the complexity of your project, your building department may request extra documentation. In these cases, we may need a copy of your purchase invoice for the structure and any engineered drawings provided by the manufacturer. These documents help the building department verify structural details and ensure your project meets all safety and compliance standards.
Once your permit is approved, it will be officially issued by your building department. In most cases, permits are delivered digitally, making the process quick and convenient. However, some jurisdictions require the homeowner to pick up the permit in person, depending on their local procedures.
We’ll let you know immediately once your permit is issued and whether your city or county requires digital delivery or in‑person pickup, so you always know the next step.
Please reach us at support@permitus.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
The processing time for a permit application with PermitUs varies depending on the type of permit and the volume of applications your building department is receiving. Some building departments have a set time frame they take for every permit.

If your permit application is denied, our customer service team will work with you to understand the reason for the denial and determine the best next steps. In some cases, we may be able to request a variance, depending on your local building department’s rules.
If your permit is denied and you purchased the consultation service, you will receive a $250 refund. By submitting payment, you agree to our Terms of Service, including our 3‑day right of refusal/cancellation. You may cancel this agreement without penalty by delivering written notice to us no later than midnight of the third business day after payment. Once we receive your written notice, the agreement becomes null and void, and any payments made will be fully refunded within 15 business days.
We are a family owned and operated company. We believe in honesty, integrity and it is incorporated into our daily lives. It all started with me getting a job working for a manufacturing company that makes buildings. In the building permit industry, contractors, developers and home owners face constant frustration with bureaucracy, red tape, and project delays. My father in-law was a contractor for 40 years before he retired. After retirement he realized that local contractors were losing weeks of build time just waiting on plan review. Navigating building departments around the United States has now become our second nature with establishing lasting relationships, from the Construction Industry Division in New Mexico to small rural communities along the east coast. We will be there for you, keeping you updated every step of the way.
